| Cutting essential services to vulnerable people in the community causes increased crisis situations.
These are necessary services and need to be consistent long term. Medicaid Personal Care, Supported Living in the community, Employment services including high school graduates, and Individual and Family Services are cost effective, meet people’s needs and avoid crisis and more costly services.
2. We strongly support findings of the RHC Study
We recommend transitioning RHC’s to regional crisis centers and create, sustain, and increase access to community resources.
To increase revenue;
We strongly recommend capturing federal funding for Individual and Family Services by applying for a Medicaid Waiver and additional savings through other efficiencies proposed by statewide advocates.
We request a dedicated funding source for services for people with developmental disabilities.
